MHP Eurovision Voting Trial with NDR |
|
Philips Softworks and German regional broadcaster NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk) created this MHP application to coincide with the 2002 Eurovision song contest which took place during May in Tallinn, Estonia.
The application allowed guests at a special Eurovision party organised by NDR to vote directly using remote control and also allowed Philips and NDR to prove a full end-to-end MHP voting solution.

Philips supplied interactive stations which comprised conventional TV sets and MHP-based set-top boxes and additionally developed a special voting application using existing application components from their MHP application suite.
The application allowed viewers to obtain additional information on each of the contestants and then vote for their chosen artist.
The voting results were continiously updated providing real-time interim scores and a prognosis of the final end-result after each performance. |
