BT Enters Mobile Broadband Space With Cheap Combo Deal
If you're going to be (very) late into a segment at least make sure to cause a stir when you do get your arse moving...

To this end BT has finally taken the wraps of its first consumer mobile broadband tariff today and bundled it with its home broadband to create one of the cheapest deals I've seen to date. £15.65pm is all it now takes to secure an 8Mbit home connection plus a 7.2Mbit HSDPA capable dongle with 1GB monthly data allowance. BT claims the combo provides savings of more than £125 per year compared to current alternatives from the likes of Vodafone and Orange and from my calculations (let me know if you find out differently) that seems about right.

"This is an absolutely fantastic deal, the most complete home and mobile broadband for only 56p a day is a no-brainer," said BT consumer division MD John Petter. "Now you can use broadband wherever you are without worrying about the cost."

Also worth pointing out is subscribers will be entitled to membership of the BT FON network and access to BT Openzone WiFi hotspots across the UK and Ireland. To be fair, this is impressive stuff which makes me wonder all the more: why so long getting your act together BT?
