Swisscom Launches TV Over Broadband

November 1, 2006 - Swisscom today announced the launch of it’s first IPTV offering in Switzerland, Bluewin TV.

The service claims to offer around 100 television channels , 70 radio channels, 500 films-on-demand, live sports coverage and around 30 Teleclub channels. Swisscom's launch of Bluewin TV is in line with the company's "Triple Screen" vision (television viewing on a television set, computer and mobile phone). Bluewin TV will be available from today.

Swisscom is yet another example of a telco embracing IPTV in order to extend their offering. This new technological trend is believed to have the capacity to change the consumption of television content.
