Verizon Wireless Launches Broadband Network Services In Laredo, Texas October 13, 2006 - Verizon Wireless has announced that it has launched its wireless broadband network in Laredo, Texas.
The expansion, which entailed installing high-tech wireless hardware and software in wireless transmission sites throughout the region, extends the Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess network to Laredo and Larga Vista. Hardware and software upgrades along with system testing are all complete. According to Verizon Wireless, the coverage area extends approximately from the Rio Grande in the west to the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and Casa Blanca Park Road in the east. From south to north, the coverage area reaches from the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and Mangana-Hein Road to the intersection of Ranch Road 1472 and Loop 20. Additional sites will be added later this year to extend coverage farther north to Ranch Road 3338.
