Broadband Bananas Background
Broadband Bananas was formed through the chance meeting of four individuals, all
passionate about the future of broadcasting, broadband and interactivity at a low-key
drinks event organised by Justin Hewelt in August 2000.
The four original founders were Gay Bell, Clare Bramley, Ferhan Cook and Justin Hewelt.
All four founders saw the great potential and benefit an informal networking and
information forum could be to the nascent interactive industry and went on to develop the
BroadbandBananas brand, networking events and online portal.

Justin Hewelt
Founded by Justin Hewelt in 1997, Paymedia Consulting Group is an independent broadcast and interactive TV consultancy specialising in interactive TV strategy, business development, marketing and emerging broadcast technologies.
Justin has extensive experience in the broadcast and new media sector having worked for NBC, MTV Networks and MIH group. Recent consulting studies include PVR User Interfaces, Global Interactive TV Middleware deployments, Interactive Games & Gaming & Advanced Participation TV Services. BroadbandBananas has continued to grow through the development of an Australian chapter in
2001 with its own calendar of successful Sydney based networking events managed locally by
